about

Save My Soul is an old song I recorded once before in 2008, and played a lot at open mics. It's about meeting depressed people.

lyrics

Had a friend I knew once,
Met her in a bar,
I said hey 'how you doing'
She said 'I don't know who you are'
I said 'that don't matter'
My stories still the same
She lit herself a cigarette
And we huddled around the flame
I said once upon a time, I would get dressed up
You know I'd go out in the city
Then I had enough
Cos I got that depression in my blood

God damn you,
I'd give my
I'd give my soul tonight
Diamonds and, sapphires and, bracelets of gold tonight
To shake off, that deathbell, that poison robe tonight
God Damn you, I'd give my, I'd give my soul.

Then a few years later
In a different bar,
She said hey how you doing,
I said I don't know who you are
She said that don't matter
My stories still the same
We lit ourselves a cigarette
And huddled around the flame
